Which class or combination of classes are right for you? Classes are taught by qualified instructors. We change the classes throughout the year. Please contact us for an intake and assessment.
*APNLC is in proud partnership with the Native Men’s Residence life skills program, Apaenmowineen. We provide literacy programming for Apaenmowineen participants on a weekly basis.

Spring 2025 Program Schedule
Yoga
Mondays 1:30-2:30 pm
Drop-in yoga program for all levels. The program is free, and no registration is required. Mats and props provided.
Health, Science, & Environment
Tuesdays 10:00 am-12:00 pm
A class to explore the connections between health, science, and the environment. Topics will include disease prevention, medical advancements, nutrition, and the impacts of pollution and climate change on human health. We discuss sustainable practices and ways to protect natural resources.
Communications for Post-Secondary
Wednesdays 10:30 am-12:00 pm
Participants develop their reading, writing, and oral communications skills and get support with college or university applications.
English as an
Additional Language (EAL/ESL)
Mondays 1:00-2:45 pm
For English-language learners at an intermediate level. Students develop reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills.
Computer Literacy
Thursdays 10:00 am-12:00 pm
A group for folks who want to improve their digital literacy skills whether it’s on a laptop, tablet, or smartphone. Each workshop focuses on a different topic.

Learners improve reading and writing skills by reading books and news articles as well as practicing a variety of writing techniques.
One-to-One Tutoring
Monday - Friday

Learners are matched with a trained volunteer tutor and meet once a week to work on their learning goals.
Health Literacy
Wednesdays 6:00-8:00 pm
Participants develop reading, writing, and digital technology skills while learning about topics related to mental, physical, and emotional health.
Self-Care & Well-being
Thursdays 1:00-2:30 pm
This group is for people who want to practice self-care strategies and learn how to manage stress. The instructor guides learners through a series of breathing, yoga, and arts-based self-care practices that helps to improve your mental and emotional health.
FoodFit Food Skills
Thursdays 11:00 am-2:00 pm
Participants in this 12-week program gain food skills and nutrition knowledge and engage in group physical activity. Through a motivating environment and supportive group dynamic, FoodFit helps participants make lasting changes to their health. Delivered in partnership with Scadding Court Community Centre.
Digital Literacy Drop-in
Mondays 10 am-12 pm
This program is for adults who need help with digital skills. You can get support with things like sending emails, finding information online, or using your smartphone. Registration is required.
Career Exploration
Wednesdays 1:00 - 2:30 pm
Workshop series that includes guest speakers from colleges, universities, and training programs. Guests share information about various post-secondary programs and career pathways.
