APNLC is proud to present the ACE Academic Upgrading Program, launched in February 2007 in partnership with George Brown College. The ACE Program prepares participants for a post-secondary education and/or apprenticeship training.
We currently offer Communications-English, Mathematics, Computer Studies, Self-Management and Self-Direction courses. The classes are held Monday to Thursday from 10 AM to 3 PM OR from 6 PM to 9 PM.
The ACE curriculum focuses on developing the skills necessary to pursue post-secondary education programs. The completion of ACE also meets the requirements for entry to most apprenticeship opportunities in Ontario.
The following are some of the training supports available to ACE students:
- On-site childcare (conditions apply)
- Light meals and drinks
- TTC tokens (conditions apply)
- One-on -one career counselling
- College application assistance
An intake interview and assessment will determine student eligibility. The program runs throughout the year with continuous enrolment.
